Mental Health filtered by Sparklers
Our goal at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is for New Zealanders to experience positive mental health and wellbeing. We aim to reduce the impact of depression and anxiety on the lives of New Zealanders and create a nation that values and includes people with experience of mental illness, so that all New Zealanders can participate in society and in the everyday life of their communities and whānau. This work encompasses two programmes of activity:
National Depression Initiative – This initiative focuses on reducing the impacts of depression and anxiety on adults and young people through early recognition and appropriate treatment. Find out more at depression.org.nz and thelowdown.co.nz. You can find resources that promote these two websites on this page.
Nōku te Ao is a national programme to increase social inclusion and reduce stigma and discrimination for people with experience of mental illness.

Sparklers Badges
Sparklers resources are made for Kaiako, Teachers and whānau that are working with Tamariki in Year 0 - Year 8.
Sparklers Badges encourage tamariki to notice and grow their wellbeing skills, giving teachers a fun and meaningful way to encourage and celebrate positive behaviours and strengths.
Our resources work best when the whole class are involved, so we encourage teachers and those working with Tamariki to order for the whole-class.
There is a maximum order for 30 badges – but if you have a kaupapa or teach in composite classes, feel free to reach out to us at Sparklers and we can see if we can accommodate your needs.
Ordered by those working with children in year 0-8.
Wellbeing Wheels
Sparklers resources are made for Kaiako, Teachers and whānau that are working with Tamariki in Year 0 - Year 8.
Take a spin of Sparklers' Wellbeing Wheel! This is the perfect tool to grab when it's time for a quick boost, a change of focus, a calming moment – or just as part of your daily routine.
We encourage Teachers or those working with Tamariki to order one for the class to use in daily routines. One side of the Wellbeing is in English and can be flipped over to Te Reo Māori if your teaching Reo Rūmaki or Kura Kaupapa.
Ordered by those working with children in year 0-8.
