Our work at the Health Promotion Directorate at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora to reduce alcohol-related harm is comprehensive in its approach. It includes national marketing campaigns, resources, and tools to support legislative requirements, community action, and health sector agencies as well as alcohol-related advice and research.

Alcohol and Older People booklet
A booklet for older people and their families, friends and carers. It is also for anyone interested in finding out more about alcohol and ageing.
It has information about:
- how our bodies become less able to cope with alcohol as we age
- how alcohol affects certain medicines and health conditions
- how much alcohol is too much when you’re older
- what older people can do if they think they have a drinking problem.
- what family/whānau can do.

A booklet for parents and caregivers with helpful information and advice about alcohol and teenagers. It includes:
- tips about delaying their teens drinking as long as possible
- information about being a good role model and building and maintaining a good relationships with teens
- what the law says
- what to do when things go wrong.

Re-usable stencil for alcohol-free areas. To use, place the stencil on the surface to be labelled and either paint or spray over.
It can be used multiple times. We will only approve orders containing one of each stencil per order.

Objecting to a licence to sell or supply alcohol
This guide is for people who are concerned about an application for a new or renewed alcohol licence in their community. It will help you decide whether to make an objection to a licence and lead you through the objection and hearings process under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.

Ruby's Dad children's book with guidelines for schools
A children's book called Ruby's Dad with guidelines for schools on how to use Ruby's Dad with children aged 6-11 years whose parent or relative has a drinking problem. It is not to be used in classroom settings.
The storyline is that Ruby's Dad begins to drink too much and things change in Ruby's family. After some difficult times, Dad gets the help he needs to stop drinking.
This resource is being retired and will no longer be available once the current stock runs out.
